Slapton – The village of Slapton is situated mid-way between Kingsbridge and Dartmouth and lies in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Slapton Ley is the largest freshwater lake in South West England and is home to a diverse variety of plant, bird and wildlife. Interestingly, the Ley is located right across the road from Slapton Sands, the beach best known as the scene of a tragic exercise in preparation for the D-Day invasion of June 1944.
Torcross –Torcross is situated at the end of Slapton Sands shingle beach. This quaint little village boasts a post-office, general store, cafes, pub, and restaurants and is ideal for those looking for a quiet and relaxed getaway, away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger towns. The location means that Torcross is a great spot for walking, swimming and bird-watching.
