Boasting a charming 'home from home' feel and with quaint harbour views to match; this eclectically furnished holiday cottage offers an ideal pet friendly retreat for family and friends staying in Brixham.
The three-storey cottage offers a relaxed ambience throughout and has been furnished with vintage second hand pieces and a painting collection by West Country artists, to provide a comfortable home in an intimate seaside setting.
Guests can fully enjoy the freedom which comes from a self-catering stay here, and all the family are welcome to stay, including up to 2 pet dogs!
The ground floor of the holiday cottage is ideal for relaxed gatherings, with a comfy sitting room with a TV and small library to unwind with and a fully equipped modern kitchen and separate dining room.
There is also a small outside courtyard leading from the back door in the kitchen with an outside tap ~ the perfect spot for washing your sea shells & beach finds or just wiping your dog's paws!
To the front of the house is a small wooden deck with a fragrant planting, where you can sit and enjoy the sun during the day and the twinkling lights of the harbour in the evenings.
Stairs lead up from the entrance hallway to a second more formal living room ideal for entertaining. The beautiful views over Brixham Harbour from the second first floor living room provides a delightful back drop for daytime relaxing and for evening drinks, and guests can fully make themselves at home.
Next door is a quiet guest bedroom also on the first floor of the cottage and is furnished with a comfortable modern double bed. A family fitted bathroom with bath tub and overhead shower is conveniently placed by the guest bedroom.
Another set of stairs lead up to the second loft-style floor, with spacious master bedroom suite furnished with a double bed and a modern and roomy en-suite bathroom with shower.
The far reaching harbour views from the master bedroom create a restful sanctuary for guests and the nautical telescope also serves as a useful tool to enjoy observing the pretty delights of Brixham and also the vibrant activity of its working harbour.
The cottage conveniently offers use of a garage for parking in front of the cottage which can then be reached by a flight of 23 steps from the gate to the right of the garage.
Brixham is a hilly fishing town and the old part where Hillview is situated, was built long before cars were around. We are therefore lucky to have a garage, but it is set at an angle to the road and is on a steep slope, so a little care is needed when parking.
Guests staying in this appealing, modernised holiday cottage are within walking distance of the harbour front and all the many local amenities on offer in Brixham.
The quaint harbour offers a fascinating seaside stroll; being home to one of the largest fishing fleets in the country, with over 100 bobbing fishing boats to admire! The harbour town's fish auction ensures guests have plenty of home-cooking opportunities to enjoy a 'catch of the day' as well as for sampling the freshly caught seafood in one of the town's many excellent restaurants.
Brixham Harbour Gardens are lovely to relax in and the unspoilt harbour side idyll in which guests can enjoy a relaxed Mid or North Devon excursion is within easy reach by car or bus from the delights of Paignton and the attractions and vibrant seaside activities of Torquay.
There are also two public swimming pools in Brixham ~ Shoalstone Sea Water Pool along Berry Head Road and the Admiral Indoor Swimming Centre.

This property is nice, quiet and well situated for Brixham.
We had a lovely stay at Hillview cottage and would very happily return. The cottage was great - nicely spacious for going with grown up children that wanted a bit of their own space, and roomy enough for taking dogs. It was also great to put the car away in the garage and forget about it for at least half the week and explore the lovely Brixham by foot! Arrangements in terms of booking were also easy and straightforward thanks.
