Situated in the centre of Brixham, with fabulous views over the harbour and out to sea, Le Voir sleeps up to 7 guests and is a modern, detached, 'upside down' house tucked in the medley of houses overlooking the water.
It is set 20 yards (7 shallow steps) from the lane and there is unloading room outside, in addition to garage parking 200 metres away.
The property also has its own enclosed, part-walled, paved garden area with lovely views from a decked section.
An open-plan living and dining room is accessible via 6 steps to the front door. Guests can watch boats to and fro across the harbour, through the large sliding doors which lead to a majestic width-of-house balcony. From here visitors can relax on the plush cushioned bench whilst watching the azure waters, and even prop up the garden table in anticipation of a cream tea.
The living room itself boasts a white cushioned corner sofa, which is complemented by nautical blue touches, in addition to an electric fire in the dining room area, a TV and a DVD player for plentiful entertainment. Natural light floods the spacious room from its picture windows, making for beautiful sunset dinners at the large pine dining table. Thanks to the clear screen balcony, the views from this part of the house are simply cinematic.
Elegant interiors continue into the neatly fitted kitchen, which is fitted with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, gas hob and electric oven. Practical and pretty, this is a perfect space for preparing self-catering meals.
The property also boasts a smart bathroom suite, which has a luxurious wooden clad effect and is complete with a separate shower. This finish flows through into the spacious master bedroom, which is dressed in beautiful stone colours and is fitted with a double bed, wardrobes, drawers and a television.
Downstairs to the lower floor, lies another bright double bedroom (5' bed) which is decorated in a nautical airy blue finish with colourful artwork. Across the hallway is a 3rd spacious bedroom, ideal for children, fitted with a single bed and a double bed, in addition to a lovely little alcove shelf for stocking trinkets and books.
In between both of these bedrooms is a second sunny bathroom suite on this lower ground floor level, fitted with a bath and hand-shower, hand basin and WC.
There is also access from the double bedroom to a very low-ceilinged utility area (including a washing machine, tumble dryer and chest freezer) and there is even useful storage room for seafaring paraphernalia such as wetsuits in here!
Parking ~ Brixham is a hilly fishing town and the old quarter in which Hillview is situated was built long before cars graced the area. The garage is up the hill from the house, in a garage area beyond Harbour View Close (off Ropewalk Hill).
Location ~ This modernised holiday cottage is within walking distance of the harbour front and Brixham's beautiful amenities.
The harbour itself offers a fascinating seaside stroll, as home to one of the largest fishing fleets in the country, it is fit to burst with bobbing fishing boats. The harbour town' fish auction also ensures that guests have plenty of home-cooking opportunities, and guests can sample freshly caught seafood in one of the town's many excellent restaurants.
Brixham Harbour Gardens offer an unspoiled idyll in which to relax, and the delights of Paignton and Torquay are but a car or bus ride away.
There are also two public swimming pools in Brixham; Shoalstone Sea Water Pool along Berry Head Road and the Admiral Indoor Swimming Centre.
