4 Zoar cottages is a delightful period cottage situated on Dartmoor National Park. Nestled right on the moor nearby to the historic town of Mary Tavy, once the largest copper mine in the world. Tavistock, just a 15 minute drive from the cottage, is one of the five Stannary towns of Dartmoor and offers plenty of amenities including cafes, shops, several pubs and  many restaurants. It is also a ten minute walk away from a lovely 16th century pub with some of best food on Dartmoor.  Beyond Dartmoor, day trips to beaches in Cornwall and Devon offer a great alternative for a fun day-out. Horse Riding is also available at a highly regarded nearby Cholwell Farm with riding stables which is either a ten minute drive away or a twenty minute direct off-road walk across the beautiful moor. The Elephants Nest pub in nearby Horndon, also walkable or a five minute drive, has roaring winter log fires, a lovely garden for al-fresco Summer dining and a reputation for some of the best food on Dartmoor. Guests staying at 4 Zoar Cottages can embark on numerous walks over the many tors and stunning rivers that flow through the moorland. The property itself is in keeping with the period charm of the time, most of the original features are still prominent today. Downstairs is set up open plan with a well equipped kitchen with traditional slate floors, worktops, antique dresser and Esse wood burning cooking stove. Coupled with the kitchen is the cosy dining and living area where you can unwind with a glass of wine after a long day exploring the countless walking routes or nearby town of Tavistock. There are 3 spacious bedrooms, each sleeping 2 people. The living area features a TV and bluetooth speaker and DVD player, for those cozy days if the weather closes in. 4 Zoar cottages, a true hidden gem, is the perfect escape for families or walkers wanting to explore the magnificent scenery and observe the array of wildlife grazing on the stunning moorland.

Outside Space: At the front of the property, there is a well sized enclosed garden area with outdoor with picnic bench table. Please note access to the rear garden is for a neighbouring property only.

Parking: Space for 2 cars inside/outside the gated drive.


Changeover Day: Friday - Arrival 4:00pm - Departure 10:00am

Security Deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £250, which is payable to Blueriver Cottages with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.

Pets : Due to grazing animals, pets are not allowed.

Power and Heat: Gas and Electricity included in rent. 

Bed Linen and Towels: Bed linen and towels provided. 

Baby Equipment: Travel cot and High Chair (please bring your own bedding for the travel cot)

Short Breaks - Short Breaks are accepted from January - end of June, from September - December, minimum of 3 nights. Short Breaks are not accepted during the months of July and August.
