Beautiful location, beautiful accommodation, a truly relaxing stay.
The highlight of the stay was just enjoying the ever changing ebb and flow of the river traffic, the changing light throughout the day. There was no real reason to ever leave Oystercatcher, everything you could wish for for a truly relaxing break was literally on the balcony. Claire from Buckingham - 16th September 2016
Fabulous views and lovely accomodation
Must be the best views of the river in Dartmouth. Having breakfast every morning on the balcony was bliss. Even managed to lay out on the steamer & read my book. Very high standard of accomodation -well equiped throughout.loved the pictures and quirky lamps in sitting room.Feel like a home rather than a holiday let. So lucky to stay here during the Regatta, would definitely return. Fiona from Essex - 26th August 2016
We'll always come back!
This is our fourth visit to Dartmouth and Oystercatcher is the best place we have stayed at. It is very well appointed and the view over the Dart is well worth the effort climbing all the steps to get here. We found it most relaxing sitting outside and enjoying the view. We will no doubt be back!George and Dorothy - 10th June 2016
Our second stay and all our fond memories confirmed. Stunning view, beautiful accommodation, brilliant location - what's not to like? This is an experience that can be repeated year after year, without a second thought. Charles & Vicki - 13th May 2016
Stunning location and very well appointed apartment
A very stylish and elegant home with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It must be one of the prime locations for the view across the Dart and to the sea.Denise and Clinton, St Albans - 29th September 2015
Excellent all-round - the accommodation, the views and the weather.
I met the people from Blueriver and they were all very helpful and friendly; our accommodation was to an extremely high standard with superb views over the harbour and the entrance. Everything was really, really great. Patrick from Portsmouth - 22nd September 2015
The Oystercatcher as always 'BRILLIANT'
We always love going to the Dartmouth and especially staying at the Oystercatcher. It is a really nice flat with amazing views of the lower ferry and KIngswear. The view down the river to the sea, and upriver are always changing and are awesome. Always something interesting happening on the river. If it rained all week we would not worry. Thank you Blueriver for the wine etc, its always a pleasure to spend our money with you. Wish we could come every year. Ron & Sylvia Ron & Sylvia from Hampshire - 18th September 2015
Picturesque and relaxing visit
Dartmouth is a lovely town and our property had some fabulous views across the River Dart. This meant we spent more time in the property (on the balcony and the veranda) than we possibly would normally have done but it felt like we had the best seats in the house to watch the world go by from. Although it was made clear before our visit, there are a lot of steps in Dartmouth if you are staying "above town". The property also has a number of quite steep steps to get in and out so it would not be ideal for anyone who was less mobile. We had a great week and would definitely consider going back in the future. Graham from Cheshire - 3rd July 2015
A jewel in the ranks of quality self-catering situated perfectly within the outstanding Dartmouth experience.
Dartmouth is a very special place - location, ambience, spectacle and more. To be able to enjoy such excellence in a superbly positioned, outstandingly well equipped self catering home (for that is how it feels) is a real treat. To tear oneself away at the end of the stay is a callenge in itself. The view, its facilities and its comfort mean that the vagaries of English weather are irrelevant. Venturing out on coastal walks or watching storms rage up the river and anywhere in between are all delights from Oystercatcher. Will we be back? Try and stop us! Charles and Vicki - 13th March 2015
Stunning location and superb apartment. Stylish and comfortable
A very special place to stayDenise and Clinton from St Albans - 7th October 2014
Fantastic holiday rental
Oystercatcher has exceeded our expectations . The rooms are much bigger than they appear on the website with high ceilings and beautiful decor throughout. Fixtures and fittings are all top class. The kitchen is well equipped and a pleasure to cook in. Views are stunning and we have spent a lot of time doing very little here. Will definitely be returning. Highly recommend Kendrick's for those who aren't into fish every night... Also Alf Frescos for a great breakfast and gorgeous cinnamon toast. Be prepared to climb steep steps up and down from the house (to us this was all part of the charm!) We wouldn't advise arriving after dark as the roads are incredibly steep and narrow!! Fantastic stay all round and would highly recommendSelina - 1st August 2014
Just to let you know that we thoroughly enjoed our stay at Oystercatcher and of course the weather was amazing. Thank you for our "welcome treats" much appreciated Pauline and Peter Watson - 17th June 2014
The apartment was beautifully presented - comfortable, stylish, fantastic decking and gardens and a view that was outstanding. It had many thoughtful touches and was definitely a luxury feel given the furnishings including many from local artists. There was much more space than the pictures suggested. Denise and Clinton from St Albans - 9th May 2014
Very relaxing enjoyable week greatly helped by being able to stay in such a well-equipped and furnished apartment with such fantastic views of the river and of Kingswear.
What more can be said!Pam and Gordon from Surrey - 18th April 2014
Delightful, a beautiful location and excellent accommodation.
Rental properties can often be a disappointment, Oystercatcher certainly was not. The views lived up to their promise and the accommodation was comfortable, well furnished and with every amenity that we needed. It was a base from which to venture out walking round Dartmouth and the coastal path and then to return to and enjoy the ambience of the cottage itself. Our only complaint is that the weather could have been kinder! Liz from Amersham - 29th December 2013
Beautiful apartment with stunning views.
Oystercatcher is tastefully appointed and affords stunning views both out to sea and across the river to Kingswear. Relax on the balcony with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee and enjoy the scene that plays out below on the river. Always something of interest to watch. The magic is still there after three visits and we have booked a fourth! Just need to keep in shape to cope with all the steps!!The four ladies from Surrey - 6th September 2013
reached all our expectations
The oystercatcher apartment was exactly as described on the website. The apartment was well equipped, and comfortable. It was spotless. The only drawback was perhaps the fact that it was difficult to dry clothes as the weather was quite changeable, and could have benefitted from a tumble dryer or a covered area outside to be able to hang clothes during the day. Lynn - Valencia, Spain. - 9th August 2013
Excellent from ease of booking to perfect place with incredible views and facilities.
Oystercatcher has been well thought out and includes all the facilities you would require for a 1 to 2 week stay. The view is probably one of the best you can have in Dartmouth - with something happening on the water all day and evening and with the idyllic terraces why leave your holiday accommodation? Lots of superb eating places and some of the tastiest and freshest fish we have experienced. Definitely be back again.Alan, Dorset and Spain - 26th July 2013
This is our third stay here, still has the wow factor for us, will return next year. The Blueriver girls are good, very nice and helpful to deal with. John & Jenny from Ashbourne - 19th July 2013
Lovely location for a great holiday. Always plenty to watch on the water! Friendly people, good restaurants. Always the promise of a thigh burning hill walk back to base. Suzie & Ian from Lichfield - 21st June 2013
We had an amazing week in Dartmouth. Oystercatcher is a beautiful apartment and much bigger than it looks in the photos. Spotlessly clean and all arrangements by Blueriver efficient and smooth with excellent attention to detail that really makes a holiday perfect. We loved the views of the river and the weather was so good we made use of the sun loungers in the garden. Took advantage of all Dartmouth has to offer including the steam railway, river trips, excellent restaurants. All in all a wonderful holiday!! Sue and Alan from Sussex - 3rd May 2013
Stunning Sea Views
Extremely comfortable light & airy accommodation, with amazing views over the Estuary and Kingswear, day and night. Always something interesting happening with the lower ferry in view below. We could have stayed in at Oyster Catcher all week, however we were lucky enough to have good weather for walking in mid October. Ron & Sylvia - Hampshire - 22nd October 2012
A piece of paradise in Dartmouth
Thank you for a wonderful week at the Oystercatcher in Dartmouth. The apartment was very luxurious. It was beautifully furnished with high quality fittings and furniture but one aspect that was priceless was the stunning view. Even in October we had breakfast on the balcony a couple of times enjoying that view and enjoying the activity on the river. Dartmouth had so much to offer, with some lovely restaurants especially Jan and Freddies and the Apprentice. We will certainly be back again. Marion from Cambridgeshire - 5th October 2012
Five star accomodation!
Spectacular views! Could have been in France or Italy! Fab Sunday lunch at Seven Stars. Main restaurant opening soon. Glorious place all round.Sue, Gary and Alex from Strarbridge - 14th September 2012
Relaxing week in Dartmouth
Oystercatcher was exactly what we had hoped when looking for a relaxing week away. The accommodation was excellent and spotless and the view from the balcony magnificent. Ideal for breakfast with a view, it would be difficult to beat. Early morning watching ferries and river traffic is truly relaxing. The property was approached by a really narrow street (not much wider than a car). It is also high up so not ideal for those who have trouble with steep hills or lots of steps. The apartment much larger than expected and we were short of nothing.....even deck chairs were available. However, for most the location should prove perfect. Only 5 minutes walk from town, and what a lovely town Dartmouth is. Would highly recommend to anybody who hasn't been. Overall a perfect break in a fantastic apartment in a lovely location. Neil and Paula from Ormskirk - 24th August 2012
Excellent, comfortable, high class accommodation.
There can be no criticism of the apartment. It is finished to a very high standard and no expense has been spared. With its position on 'Above Town' the views over the river are stunning. We cannot fault the apartment in any way. It resulted in a memorable holiday. I would recommend it strongly. The only word of caution is for those who are not as young as they used to be. There is some climbing of steps and hills to be done! Steph Burgess of Preston - 6th July 2012
A perfect place to stay - wonderful location overlooking the estury and beautifully decorated. We could happily have spent most of our time on the balcony looking at the view. The decked area was a welcome addition and in high summer you would really benefit from having this. The flat is also very spacious. You need to be fit to climb steps or a steep hill up to the property: this definitely got easier as t he week went on. Good added touches such as an outdoor heater and lighting on the balcony.Nikki from London - 13th April 2012
A relaxing holiday is guaranteed!
A relaxing holiday is guaranteed in this very spacious accommodation decorated and equipped to a very high standard. We made full use of the outdoor areas; having breakfast on the balcony watching life on the river Dart . Dining on the large decked area in full sunshine and enjoying an afternoon siesta on yet another level under the shade of an apple tree. There are numerous routes down from 'Above Town' to visit the multitude of shops that meet all your needs. We visited Dartmouth Castle to experience a civil war re-enactment and on one evening a picnic followed by a Shakespeare Play. Wonderful! We only used the car on one occasion during the week to visit the nearby beaches, stopping at Slapton Sands and Kingsbridge, otherwise the car stayed parked with the property permit. We have booked the same week for 2012 and are ticking the days away. Caroline - Pontefract - 18th November 2011
Oystercatcher is stunning. We'll be back for more! Thank you. BarbaraBarbara - 18th September 2011
Beautifully appointed apartment!
Stunning views, beautifully appointed apartment and plenty of river activity to watch! The many sets of steps have kept us challenged! Thank you - we hope to be back! Barbara, Lola, Hilary & Angela - 9th September 2011

Perfect place to relax!
We have very much enjoyed out stay at Oystercatcher, it has been the perfect place to relax after our wedding. Lovely views, beautiful flat, very tastefully decorated and lovely local finishing touches. The balcony area is great and we have been lucky enough with the weather to enjoy eating outside at least a couple of times. Overall stunning, will be recommending to friends and family and returning! Thank you! Matt & Rachael - 29th May 2011
