A fabulous property that we are sad to hear won't be available in the futurePaul Lambert - 30th October 2017
Great location in Dartmouth, very quiet and comfortable. The apartment has absolutely everything you need. The car park pass is great and there were always spaces available when we came back after days out. The only criticism as mentioned by other guests is the shared entrance which is a bit shabby ( and smelly probably due to the bin bags) Overall a great place and would highly recommendGavin from Bromsgrove - 20th August 2016
Amazing weather and superb apartment in a great location.
Bayards is a superb place to stay. It is well equipped, spacious and clean and in a great location close to all amenities. The use of the car parking/park & ride pass was a great help. We love Dartmouth and have been visiting for 30 years. Would definitely book Bayards again. The Anderson/Aspinall family - DN10 - 13th August 2016
Wonderful week in a wonderful apartment
We needed an apartment in a great location as both my parents find it difficult to get about, Bayards fitted the bill close to everything the Quay Side, Boat Trips, Train journeys, shops, pubs, etc. The apartment well equipped, plenty of room, we all loved our stay and will plan to return.Sue & Jack from Melton Mowbray - 30th July 2016
Our second stay in Bayards, just as enjoyable as the first, we did 10 days this time (as apposed to 7 days previously). Great weather, great walks and great food. The apartment is situated close to all amenities. We have just one tiny niggle with the accommodation, it's starting to look a bit tired, otherwise perfect. It won't stop us staying there again though ??Andy & Gill from Gloucestershire - 13th July 2015
Great apartment, well equipped and top quality - also ideally placed so near to restaurants, river, etc. However - and this is a big however - I wouldn't book it again because of that scruffy and smelly entrance/stairs from the road.Ros from Goring - 20th June 2015
Superb apartment situated in the perfect location.
This is a superb apartment that has all the necessary ingredients for a perfect holiday-centrally located, very well equipped and fantastic that the dog can come too!Gill Lambert -North Yorkshire - 30th May 2015
Self-catering doesn't get much better than this!
Our first impression of two-bed apartment Bayards was excellent! On closer inspection, our opinion only improved! As well as being perfectly placed in the centre of Dartmouth and on the doorstep of the town's many lovely shops and restaurants, it was also immaculately clean, surprisingly quiet and stocked everything possible - from dog bowls to extra loo rolls (a rarity indeed in self-catered accommodation) - to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible! There is also a home hub for WiFi and a stack of DVDs. Would we book again? You betcha!!!Mark, Sue and Tinker from London - 26th March 2015
Fabulous apartment in an ideal position in town.
A very well maintained apartment that has everything you could possibly need for your stay in Dartmouth. The kitchen is very well equipped should you be able to resist the temptation to eat out all the time.Gill Lambert North Yorkshire - 1st November 2014
The apartment is very clean and extremely well equipped. It is a real home from home in an excellent location.Martyn from Portsmouth - 25th October 2014
Nice apartment, had everything you could possibly want & more. Good location. It's so refreshing these days when things just meet (or exceed) your expectations. This week away most certainly did. Thank you.Richard Jackson, Hampshire. - 11th October 2014

A very well equipped and clean apartment in an excellent locationMartin from Preston - 12th September 2014
Comfortable, clean and well equipped
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bayards and found that the property had everything we needed. The flat was spotless when we arrived and the welcome pack was a nice touch. The only thing that let it down was the entrance hall(there is a large hole in the plaster by the door and this makes the carpet messy which is disappointing as the flat is so well kept) also the window in the twin room does not shut properly it looks like this has been an unresolved issue for sometime.Helen Surrey - 30th August 2014
Dartmouth has much to offer. We have been there Spring, Summer and Fall. Being near the river and sea lifts my spirits. It is a beautifully kept town. The gardens and flower baskets throughout town are cheerful. Shopping is abundant and there are many wonderful places to eat. We especially love that you do not need a car to get around town. It is fairly easy to walk and with ferries, boat, steam train and buses, travel is easy. We hope to return again in the future. If you have never taken bus 93 to Kingsbridge, that is a must do trip. Rides at Disney World have nothing on this. Be sure you ride in the front seats, top deck. We have stayed in two different flats and both were great choices. Very pleased with the services that Blue River Cottages provides.Ian and Donna from St. Catharines Ontario Canada - 9th August 2014
Good location, clean & well equipt. Surrounded by excellent eateries & Pubs.
The cheap pillows are the only let down of a great stay. The locals are always friendly whether immediate or when travelling around. 'Blackpool Sands' knocks spots off it's northern name sake. We love south devon.Jane & Paul from Blaby, Leicestershire. - 26th July 2014
The apartment is in a prime position, nicely laid out, clean and fresh. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and so has Bill (our Scottish Terrier) who settled down immediately, very unusual as he hates change. We ate breakfast ay Alf Resco every morning, drank at the Dartmouth Arms every evening and did long walks in between, lovely. We will definitely book to come back again. Thank you for a great holiday :-)Gill from Gloucester - 12th July 2014
Great appartment, great location, a really lovely holiday.
The electrics took a little working out (we are in our dotage!) but soon sorted, the T.V. being the most difficult. All in all a perfect place to stay.Tony and Maureen,, Bracknell. - 31st May 2014
A super spring break in Dartmouth
Bayards is a surprisingly spacious apartment furnished comfortably and to a high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything needed if you want to prepare and cook your own food. We ate out each evening: the many many excellent Dartmouth restaurants, bistros and gastro pubs are just a stroll away along the picturesque quayside. Although Dartmouth is bustling in the day, the nights are tranquil and we had great nights' sleep in the comfy beds. We had one rainy day and spent a little longer inside but it was easy to lounge around on the large sofas and watch a video! The staff at Blue River were very helpful (the office is just around the corner from the apartment) and helped sort out a query about the WiFi. The parking permits are a huge bonus and we appreciated being able to use them in Totnes, Kingsbridge Slapton Sands as well as Dartmouth itself. We would certainly recommend Bayards as a base to relax in Dartmouth and/or explore beautiful South Hams.Averil from Cardiff - 2nd May 2014
Very enjoyable family holiday
Excellent, well-equipped accommodation that was very clean and well situated in the heart of Dartmouth. Good sized rooms with efficient heating. Car park less than five minutes walk away and we always found a space when needed. Had a lovely week enjoying the delights of Dartmouth - our children particularly enjoyed crabbing and sampling the ice cream from the shop across the road!Karen from Surrey - 12th April 2014
Wonderfully relaxing home from home!
The flat is in a great location in the centre of Dartmouth and whilst it is first floor, the stairs are not too steep. It is lovely and spacious with all the rooms being of a good size. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need! The beds are comfy and the flat was lovely and warm during our winter visit with plenty of hot water. The lounge/dining area is a great place to relax in at the end of a busy day exploring with comfy sofas and a range of DVDs and games to keep you amused! Overall a great place to stay in DartmouthSarah from West Sussex - 9th December 2013
A wonderful apartment and location!
Apartment spotless and very well equipped, superb location! The Ward family Nuneaton - 2nd November 2013
Lovely accommodation and great service
The booking was carried out professionally from beginning to end, with all communications arriving on time and as described. The actual accommodation was one of the best we have stayed in for the price. The location was superb for us being in the centre of town. The property itself was extremely well appointed, recently renovated and spotlessly clean. It is unusual to stay in rented accommodation without there being something needing attention. This property was the exception. it was first class .M&M from Portsmouth - 26th October 2013
Everything we needed and more
Excellent location,very spacious,clean and tidy.Thoroughly enjoyed regatta week in dartmouth.Sinclairs Northamptonshire - 31st August 2013
Lovely warm and comfortable apartment in an excellent central position
We had a wonderful week at Bayards, the property is very clean and warm with everything we needed. The beds were especially comfortable! It was in an excellent position near to the seafront, didn't need the car all week.Jane from Birmingham - 3rd November 2012
Very comfortable apartment with all one could wish for in a home away from home.Heather - Luxembourg - 15th October 2012
The Great Escape
What a fantastic apartment spacious, modern and very well equipped. This truly was the great escape we had hoped for and the location was spot on. We can honestly say that Bayards is the best self catering property we have found in a reasonable price range and when you add to this the helpful friendly service received from the Blueriver staff you have all the ingredients for a wonderful holiday.Lloyd, Jackie and Dalby, Warwickshire. - 15th September 2012
Bayards is a great place to stay and is very well located in Dartmouth town centre. It is a short stroll from the waterfront, pubs, restaurants, shops, the lower ferry and the Co op supermarket. It is on a busy street so don't expect it to be a quiet backwater. Although I think this is one of the main attractions of the apartment. You are so well located if you like the vibrancy of the town centre. You can even see the queue outside Alf Resco's so you can time when it's best to get a table ! The designated car parking space is also only 5 minutes walk away. The apartment itself is very well appointed. It has good size rooms and is overall very spacious. There is a lounge/dining area with sofas and TV. The modern kitchen has plenty of units, storage space, crockery, cutlery etc. It has a washing machine, iron and board, vacuum, fridge with a small ice box but no freezer, gas hob, kettle and toaster. There is no dishwasher. The bedrooms are well appointed with wardrobe space. The double bedroom has a small en suite with electric shower basin and toilet. The main bathroom has a gas shower, bath, basin and toilet. There is a good wi fi connection via a BT hub which is always handy. If you like Dartmouth this is a great place to stay. I have 2 teenagers and we all said that we would definitely stay again at some point in the future.Rich from Bristol. - 25th August 2012
Nice place, roomy and pleasant, brilliant location, would use it again. Loved Dartmouth- again!!!Christine and Adrian - 9th June 2012
Bayards in sunny May
Ideal accomodation for our visit, comfortable and clean, close to centre but peaceful. We will certainly consider another visit. Excellent weather too. Will, Dorset - 29th May 2012
What a find!
We loved it here! We have stayed in quite a few different properties over the past 5 or 6 years but we all agreed that this was our favourite. We visit Dartmouth for the music festival and it's great to be based right in the thick of it all. The accommodation was clean, comfy and well equipped. Will definitely stay again (hopefully next years music festival!).Avril - 14th May 2012
Great return visit
Dartmouth is charming, and this flat in the middle of the town is wonderfully situated - quiet and central. We missed having a view (except of Alf Resco's), but had not expected one, and that was the only thing that was missing. The flat was very well equipped and the staff in the office were friendly and helpful.Gill from London - 26th April 2012
The perfect week.
The flat really does have everything you could possibly need. It is comfortable, and well located to give easy access to the town, and the bus. The weather was perfect all week, with sunshine from dawn 'til dusk. Great walks from Dittisham and Greenway, and from Torcross back to Dartmouth Castle for a cream tea. We also made it to Froward Point. Good meals at the Cherub and the Royal Castle Hotel. Excellent!Jane & Phil from Cowes - 31st March 2012
Beautiful Bayards Apartment
We had a fantastic break. The apartment was clean, comfy, warm and well equipped. It's in a great position, close to the shops, ferry and great eateries. Alf-rescos breakfasts are delicious. We will certainly be back. PS. lots of dog friendly pubs too!Lloyd & Sally from Christchurch - 22nd March 2012
Just what we wanted!
We really enjoyed the stay and found the flat to be just what we wanted! Many thanks DominicDominic - 26th September 2011
Fantastic location, well appointed, very comfortable and roomy
My husband and I spent 5 days at Bayards. The agent we dealt with was more than obliging and the arrangements for picking up the key were very convenient. The apartment was more than adequate for just the two of us, with an extremely well appointed kitchen in which my husband was able to whip up lovely meals using the local seafood. Everything in Dartmouth was within walking distance and there was more than enough for us to see, do and eat close by. Take your family!MaitlandDeb - 12th August 2011
Every conceivable extra!
Just a quick note to say how happy Mrs G and I were with the flat we rented. Every conceivable extra had been thought of - from napkins in the dining area to a shopping bag to a superbly equipped kitchen. It was clean, comfortable and very good value. Please pass our appreciation on to the owners.Sue M - 16th July 2011
