Grade 2 listed, Market View is a luxury large 2 bedroom self catering apartment over two floors, looking out onto the ancient market square in the heart of Dartmouth. Completely refurbished into self catering holiday accommodation in early 2010, it has been beautifully redesigned to a high specification but retains all its charm & original character. The maisonette has a 'beach house' feel. Decorated in blues, creams & whites, it is very light & relaxing. A parking permit is provided for use all year for an unreserved space in the town centre car park.
The large open plan lounge-kitchen-diner area has a top quality king size sofa bed, built in wardrobe and chest of draws to comfortably accommodate a further two people.
The open plan lounge-kitchen-diner is light and spacious with 2 windows overlooking the market square. There are white wooden window shutters and the kitchen is well designed and laid out with freestanding range cooker, integrated dishwasher, 18thC larder, butler's sink, stainless steel microwave and fridge freezer. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality cookware, utensils, prestige pots, pans, simple white china and solid stainless steel cutlery.
The main bedroom is full of character with ancient beams, occupying the entire top floor. It has an en-suite with shower, there is a white iron king size bed, LCD TV with built-in DVD player and Freeview, bespoke built-in wardrobe, large chest of drawers, 2 bedside tables, 3 roof windows with blackout blinds and a cooling fan.
The twin bedroom has 2 white iron 3ft wide twin beds, a built in wardrobe, 2 shaker style chest of draws, a small cabinet and a large window with ivory wooden blinds.
The lounge-kitchen-diner acts as a third bedroom a night. It has a top quality king sized sofa-bed, built in wardrobe, chest of drawers & bedside cabinet. This is a private space at night as access to the bathrooms and hallways do not require walking through the lounge-kitchen-diner.
The main bathroom is light, airy and luxuriously appointed. There is a freestanding slipper roll top bath, separate shower enclosure with a traditional style Victorian shower - large fixed head and flexible hand held shower, a traditional Georgian style towel radiator and ivory wooden blind.
The maisonette overlooks the market square. There is a market Tuesdays & Fridays plus a Farmer's Market on the 2nd Saturday in the month.
There is an annual parking permit for you to use in Mayors Avenue car park (this works on a first come first served basis)
The en-suite bathroom has a shower, freestanding washstand with counter top basin, towel radiator and a roof window.

The apartment was absolutely excellent. Over two floors, the apartment is so light and airy with everything you need the flat suited us perfectly. The main bedroom on the top floor was beautiful - a very comfortable bed and the black out blinds on the velux windows worked really well. Excellent power shower with instant hot water. I'd recommend earplugs just for the seagulls if you like to sleep with the windows open (we had 3 seagull chicks and their parents on the roof which was a little noisy). Otherwise such a peaceful apartment right in the middle of the town. Couldn't have been better placed. We bought fresh bread and quiches from across the road in Dart to Mouth - also highly recommend their cream teas! Downstairs the kitchen and living areas were great and the books and games were enjoyed too. Really efficient to get the keys via keypad system on the exterior and parking permit was all easily laid out inside too. Enough space to drop off bags and then park at the nearby car park. Lovely touch to receive the bottle of wine and jam from Bluerivercottages too. An excellent flat and we are looking forward to returning.Bonnie, London - 16th June 2016

Quite often, pictures are a limited way of giving you an idea of what you are actually going to experience when you arrive at your destination. The property was more than suitable for our needs and did give us plenty of space and allowed two families to co inhabit without the sense that there was no personal space. The accommodation was well maintained and had everything needed to give you a sense it was an extension of home regarding the facilities it had, including dishwasher tablets! Short of nothing really. It was suitable for the one year old baby who had enough room to move around. On two levels, it allowed us to spread out easily and sleeping arrangements were good, especially with a pull out king size that fitted our 6'.4'' son with ease. It was in the town, which made everything easy to reach and allowed easy local shopping and light strolls to the river front. Only things to consider with this area is the noise level of the seagulls that can effect sleep and we resorted to earplugs when required, especially if the windows were open. I would say that if there was a choice of location and seagulls, the location would win! Dartmouth itself is a lovely, unspoilt area with plenty of interesting sites and excursions like boat trips and steam train to Paignton. You do need the good weather and maybe a good itinerary, although there are endless walks if that's the plan! Market View was a really well set up and attractively presented apartment, very clean and well situated. The owner has gone to some trouble and expense to achieve this. It is very light and airy and seems to have all anyone could wish for in the way of equipment; it also had some nice pictures and ornaments. We would use this place again-other members of the family were also staying in places run by Blue River which were also of a high standard. Our Easter Stay in Market view was most enjoyable. The accommodation was great in both quality and facilities. Located in the heart of Dartmouth, but quiet, both night and day. Close to all shops and quality restaurants, ferries and walks along the South West Coastal Path. Market View was an excellent place to stay. It was so convenient. The beds were really comfortable so we slept really well. The decor in the house suits the location-very nautical! Loved Dartmouth. I wish that we had known about booking a tour of the Britannia Naval Base long before we left home as it was booked out weeks before we arrived. The cover strip on the floor leading into the kitchen is lifting and needs to be reglued. The front door bell does not work! One of us was stuck outside without a key! One of our best holidays,- ever!
We (four of us) came to Dartmouth for a fortnight, which included the week before and the week after our son's wedding at Dittisham. The sun shone for the first 13 of our 15 days (Including the wedding!) The Market View apartment was superb, so much so that we were sad to leave it!It was our first visit to Dartmouth and we soaked up every aspect,- boats, train, crab fishing, eating out and visiting local spots. Maybe our only disappointment was the trip to Paignton. We enjoyed the train, but after Paignton,we were glad to get back to Dartmouth! Market View is ideally located in the centre of Dartmouth. It is beautifully decorated and every possible amenity is provided to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Just a quick note to say thank you to all at Blueriver Cottages - we had a fantastic stay in Dartmouth last week (during the heatwave!), in Market View. The property was one of the best we have ever stayed in; it was spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped and beautifully decorated and furnished. It is perfectly appointed too, being right in the centre of the town a very short stroll from shops, pubs, restaurants, and the River Dart. We meant to pop into your office to say hello during our stay, but the time flew by and with two rounds of golf to play(!) and a lot of sightseeing, we ran out of time. What a fab apartment to stay in
So so lucky with the weather but even on wet evenings what a fab apartment to stay in. Our must do/high spots were: -Crabbing -Boat trip to Dartmouth Castle -Racing pigs at Pennywell Farm -Lighthouse visit at Start Point -Sandy beach at Mill Bay near Salcombe and great dam building -Fish and chips from the Frying Pan -Coleton fishacre - Wow! And a great cream tea! -Church just behind here well worth nipping into. Very old and beautiful interior. Such a well equipped apartment. Great kitchen equipment. Many thanks - we had a great stay. Market View is a second floor duplex apartment located in the centre of the Town. There is no parking at the property but a parking permit is provided for use in the town centre car park.
Approached through front door 720mm wide from street level and up 10 carpeted steps with handrail to first floor landing area with a further 4 carpeted steps to
740mm wide into property with 16 carpeted stairs and handrail directly in front leading up to accommodation.
Open Plan Living Area
Part glazed door 670mm wide into room with laminate flooring laid throughout the room with 2 large rugs and 1 runner laid to the living area. The room comprises of the following furniture, a large wooden dining table with 6 chairs, two large sofas – one a sofa bed to accommodate two guests during their stay at the property, moveable large wooden coffee table, moveable side table, two butlers trays with side lights, chest of drawers unit housing the CD stereo and Wi-Fi router, wall mounted flatscreen TV with separate Humax freeview box.
The kitchen area is fitted with a range of wooden base units with worksurface at 920mm high with appliances consisting of a range gas cooker, dishwasher and freestanding fridge with separate freezer compartment. Freestanding wooden larder cupboard.
Lighting in the room is by ceiling pendant lights and three wall lights to the kitchen area.
