Overview

36a Newcomen Road is a delightful period property with many characterful features with its arrangement over two floors giving this apartment all the feel of a house.    From the first floor, stunning views of Kingswear, the River and out to sea are enjoyed from the large bay window to the lounge.   The property is desirably located close to the centre of the town with easy access to all the facilities that Dartmouth has to offer with the local restaurants and shops just a few minutes walk away. The property has been recently refurbished resulting in a stylish comfortable property.  Although there is no parking with the property a car parking permit is provided for use in the town centre car park from April to the end of September.

Living

Situated on the first floor with a large triple sash bay window giving panoramic views over the River Dart, Kingswear and out to sea.  There is a large feature fireplace and wooden floors adding to the overall character of the property.  The room is furnished with a three seater and a two seater sofa as well as a table and chair set in the bay window from which to sit an enjoy the views.  Entertainment is provided by a flatscreen freeview TV with DVD player with a provision of books and CDs available for guests to use.

Kitchen Dining

Located on the ground floor is the spacious kitchen and dining room with a large sash window to the front and a large feature stone fireplace.  The large range of kitchen units with granite worktop over providing ample storage with built-in appliances of fridge, freezer and a Rangemaster cooker.   Dining is provided by a large solid wood dining table and four chairs.

Sleeping

The bedrooms are both located on the first floor.

Bedroom one is located to the rear of the property with a feature valuted ceiling and oak flooring laid.  The room is furnished with a double bed with bedside cabinet and sidelight with a range of built in shelving to one side and a triple wardrobe.  A small staircase leads into the lounge with the opening to the fireplace providing an unusual feature.  The bedroom also benefits from en suite facilities.

Bedroom Two is located to the front of the property with a large sash window offering River views.  Furnished with bunk beds and a chest of drawers this room is more suited to the younger guest.

Bathroom

Benefiting from two bathroom facilities with a shower room located on the first floor featuring a corner shower cubicle with shower, low level WC, slimline wash hand basin and with fully tiled walls and flooring plus a heated towel rail.

The ensuite facilities feature a white suite of a panelled bath with shower over, low level WC, circular wash hand basin set on freestanding unit and a continuation of the oak flooring.  The washing machine is also located here.  

Parking

Although there is no parking available with the property, a car park permit is provided from April until the end of September for use in the town centre car park at Mayors Avenue as well as for use at the Park and Ride.

This was our second visit to 36A Newcomen road.
There are wonderful views from the living room of the estuary down as far as the castle, kingswear and the steam train. We love the fact that the property is so close to the river and the shops and yet it feels like our own space because it's so quiet, spacious and comfortable. Lovely stay in a great location
We stayed at 36a Newcomen Road. We chose it mainly because of the location and the views it afforded over the river Dart and we were not disappointed. This is an excellent location just a minute walk from Bayards cove with great views out to the castle. Perfect accommodation for a family of four with young children (bunk beds). The kitchen was well equipped and was a lovey place for family meals together. The only improvements we would recommend are: 1) Get a vegetable peeler for the kitchen 2) drawer knobs in the bunk bed room kept falling off and need replacing. 3) blinds in the master bedroom could do with an upgrade. A great place to stay and the Blueriver staff were so helpful, informative and pleasant. to deal with. In fact, we loved to see their smiling faces even when we were just passing by!
A nice 'roomy' place with a good sized kitchen. It was always warm, even without the heating on. Our only one little 'moan' as it were, would be to have a glass shower screen, rather than the plastic curtain wrapping around when you when showering. Other than that, all was perfect! Lovely house with amazing views
This is a nice spacious house for two adults and two children. The kitchen is beautiful, large, and very well-equipped. The view from the living room window is outstanding! It's very peaceful for a house so close to town. Lovely to be able to go down a few steps to Bayards Cove and sit and crab/fish or just watch the water. Would highly recommend staying here. Handy to have a parking permit for the town car park which can also be used in other places like Totnes and the lovely Bigbury-on-Sea beach.Caroline from Southampton - 31st May 2014
Very comfortable and well located holiday let.
The house is quirky but full of character and very nicely furnished and presented. The location is perfect for easy access to Dartmouth front and centre without being right in the hubbub. There is a lovely view from the first floor bay window and the lounge is light, airy and spacious. The generous kitchen is well stocked and great for preparing food and sharing family meals. A Lovely Stay
