Very much enjoyed our stay at sand quay. Been tricky at times on the steps as we had 3 children with us, 1,3 and 4 years old and 2 buggys to carry up the steps! Although this wasn't a surprise as it was made perfectly clear in the description of this property. We did also find the property difficult for the children with the lounge being upstairs, we did however bring our own stairgates which didn't fit! Also the travel cot is very small. The garden was a bonus as we brought some garden toys and bikes with us and had a few bbqs. Kitchen was well equipped apart from it doesnt Have a garlic crusher and an apron would be a nice touch. Towels were a bit small and 1 towel each for a week wasn't great as we couldn't get them dry! Overall our stay here was nice but sadly as i believe this house is "pet friendly" the house was covered in dog hair on arrival and I had to hoover! As a child friendly accommodation there is a few aspects of the house which were an issue for us, also we really missed wifi for the children. Ward/kindreds Lowestoft suffolk - 27th August 2016
Great Stay. Great Place.
Cottage was perfect really cute & modern inside. The stairs, yes there are ALOT but you get used to them, they are the biggest pain on check in/check out. Perfect size garden for a dog. Lots of little extras like sugar, washing liquid, washing detergent and a lovely welcome pack. Beds very comfy, sofa great for snuggling as it has great views!! Our one & ONLY bug bear was the parking but that's Dartmouth not the cottages fault. All in all a great stay. Thanks to Blueriver for all their help with booking :) Kayleigh from Birmingham - 26th March 2016
Relaxing with good views at the quiet end of town
A great base for exploring Dartmouth and surrounding areas. Plenty to do and see without getting the car out. Would just say that the steps to the property are very steep and will definitely give your lungs and calf muscles a good work out! Lovely views from the lounge and bedroom windows, a few minutes walk to the nearest pub and park for an easy place to exercise the dog. Russell & Tracy from Christchurch - 11th July 2015
A good sized house not too far from the centre with small garden and view of river.
Location was good, although steps to property were tiring and a lack of parking permit made difficulties. Well furnished with comfortable beds apart from one single bed with a basic wire mattress. Not possible to change the timer on the central heating. Alison from Loughborough - 21st October 2014
nice house shame about the steps!
Lovely little house but really needs a separate loo to function for any family these days. The wine, fudge and jam were a nice touch which we appreciated. The furnishings and fittings were modern and the bedlinen and towels faultless, lots of homely little touches around the property. We needed an oven glove on the evening we arrived, also washing up liquid-too late when we realised to call the office. We left a day early as parking restrictions are just not made crystal clear and we got fed up going up and down the 89 steps to move cars! This is not the fault of Blue River but a lack of clarity from whoever words the signage. Jayne from london - 11th October 2014
Relaxing and peaceful
Overall Sandquay was as expected, clean, comfortable, with a fantastic view over the River Dart. We liked the fact the garden was "dog proof"! Just very slightly let down with the dated bathroom & the extractor didn't work. That would not put us off from returning (even the 89 steps were ok!!!) We were extremely lucky with the weather & had a glass of wine on the raised deck every evening. Ruth and Adrian from Tiptoe, Lymington - 29th September 2014
One we will always remember
Wonderful stay in Dartmouth with fantastic weather. Only there for 3 nights but found Dartmouth just as pretty and friendly as before.Rachael from West Midlands - 8th September 2014
Wonderful - Dartmouth is stunning, everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
The house could have done with a few extra items, a loo brush (!) and a measuring jug and an ordinary jug would have been great but these are only minor niggles. Jane from London - 9th August 2014
Peaceful stay in Sandquay view cottage.
We are preparing to leave Sandquay View after a very enjoyable, short break over the Easter weekend. The Cottage is very comfortable and clean ,and just a pleasant 5-10 minute walk into the centre of Dartmouth. The house is very well equipped, so a word of advice...pack lightly ! Carrying luggage, food and a lot of unnecessary items is indeed a struggle up the 89 steps to the cottage!! (However the difficult access to the property was explained to us at the time of booking, so we should have taken the Agents comments on board at the time ,then maybe we would have been better prepared for the challenge!) However, please do not be put off...Once we reached the cottage, the peacefulness and privacy more than make up for the efforts of getting to the front door! On arrival at the cottage, we were met with a bottle of wine, homemade fudge, and a selection of biscuits, and an informative welcome file courtesy of the agents. A stack of fluffy towels and good quality bed linen on very comfy beds, was an added bonus! This cottage, is ideal for a relaxing break in Dartmouth, suitable for couples or familes, and has the benefit of an enclosed garden, with a small raised decked area to sit out on a warm evening and watch the boats on the river ...( garden ideal for pets too!). Parking on the street below was a bit hit and miss, but we found spaces in the central car park in the town centre each time we tried, so this was not an issue....just remember to take everything you need from the car after parking up in the central car park, as having to climb the steps again, when you've forgotten something from the car is most annoying, although does keep you fit! The Agents, we felt were very accommodating, and dealt with a couple of minor issues promptly and efficiently. Despite the best efforts of the Agent,( especially over a Bank Holiday weekend), we were unable to get the TV in the bedroom to work during our stay, although a gardener was sent to cut the lawn within 30 minutes of our request. Many thanks to Rachel. We definitely would not hesitate to recommend their services and this particular cottage to friends and family. The Ford Family, Midlands. - 21st April 2014
