Chestnut Cottage is a lovely detached property located in the heart of the market town of Kingsbridge. Comfortably sleeping 5 in 2 very spacious bedrooms, this property is great for families and is in a fantastic location to explore the South Hams. With plenty of local shops, restaurants and cafes on your doorstep there is something for all the family to enjoy. Kingsbridge is also on the bus route and you can easily access many of the other beautiful towns such as Salcombe and Dartmouth. Chestnut Cottage has been decorated throughout in a nautical theme following a blue and white colour scheme. On the ground floor you can find a kitchen with dining and living space. Located on the first floor are two double bedrooms with a separate shower room and bathroom.
Chestnut Cottage has a fully equipped kitchen which has been tastefully decorated throughout following the nautical theme. This room includes a gas oven and 4 ring hob, a stylish SMEG fridge/freezer, microwave and all other useful kitchen utensils. Neatly stored away in the dining room you can also find a washer/dryer. Just before the entrance of the kitchen there is a large storage cupboard under the stairs in here you can find various cleaning equipment. This area also provides space to store any shoes, extra coats and any holiday beach equipment that you might have bought down on your holiday with you.
The living space is located towards the front of the property and therefore benefits from the sunshine pouring through all 3 windows throughout the day. The windows look out onto the park and therefore you can sit down and watch the children play in the evening whilst you can enjoy a glass of wine and kick back and watch the TV. The living area is decorated with a nautical blue and white theme which is brought out in the sofas and all the soft furnishings including the curtains. In the centre of the room is a wooden chest containing board games and DVDS for entertainment on those colder evenings.
The dining space is located just off from the kitchen, again following the nautical theme this room is decorated neutrally and contains a wooden dining table with enough seating for all of your guests. There is a large window which looks out onto lovely greenery and a bamboo plant. There is also a little stream which runs past the cottage which can be heard when the windows are open and adds to the calming and relaxing atmosphere. For the children it is also great to play pooh sticks from as you can run through to the lounge and watch the sticks come through the other side.
On the first floor you can find two good sized light and airy double bedrooms. The master bedroom benefits from views out towards the park and contains one King-size bedroom with 2 complementary bedside tables either side. There is a large wooden wardrobe in the corner of the room with plenty of hanging space for all of your holiday clothing. The second bedroom contains 1 double bed and 1 single bed with a pull out trundle bed. This room is tastefully decorated in a soft pastel tone and is ideal for children or even an extra couple. There is plenty of storage within this room, in the corner of this room there is a built in cupboard with plenty of hanging space as well as a separate wardrobe hanger for shoes and folded clothing.
Chestnut Cottage benefits from a separate bath and shower room in between the two double bedrooms on the first floor. The shower room contains a walk in shower with a curtain, a wash basin and a WC. Opposite this there is a bathroom which contains a large corner bath, wash basin and a storage cupboard with hanging space for your towels. Both bathrooms link in with the decor of the property by following the nautical theme.
Although Chestnut Cottage does not have any of its own outside space the property sits right sights on the entrance to the beautiful Duncombe Park in Kingsbridge. This park contains lawned grass which is ideal for sunbathing whilst the children play on the newly refurbished climbing frame. This space is also brilliant to enjoy a BBQ in or to share a picnic in the late evening sunshine. Being centrally located you can also benefit from a 5minuite walk to many quaint litte pubs with fantastic beer gardrens. Again a delightful place to enjoy a real ale after an exciting day or a hearty pub meal.
This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200, which is payable to Blueriver Cottages with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.

Kingsbridge is a centrally placed town that is often overlooked, which is unfortunate, as there are Dartmouth (to the East), Salcombe (South), Totnes (North) and Hope Cove (West) all within a short ride. Ideal for two couples, or 2 adults and up to 4 children.Martin MONK - 22nd November 2017

House was as advertised and as per pictures. Very clean and functional and excellent for our 14 month old son. It had everything you will need for a short stay including a washing machine. The tea bags and coffee was a nice touch too. Bed in the main bedroom was big and comfy and the room was airy and bright as was the second room. The location was cracking and a short walk to Kingsbridge centre. Parking could be an issue but we got lucky with the 2 hour spaces outside the house and also a space in the car park opposite the house. On the whole very good!
A lovely clean cottage with excellent facilities. No hair dryer though which would be useful, with 3 females in our family we had to go and buy one! The park across the road is a great advantage, although the cottage is situated across the road from it and it is a fairly busy road. Would not let our children cross it alone I'm afraid. The washer/dryer was really useful ?? Wine and fudge and discount card was a very thoughtful touch. A great choice of shops and restaurants in Kingsbridge.Louise from Feckenham - 3rd June 2016
