Courtenay Cottage is located in the stunning holiday and sailing destination of Salcombe, the most Southerly part of Devon. Salcombe is known for its beautiful coastal scenery and sandy beaches as well as being known for its sailing and fishing. There are plenty of activities for all family members to enjoy such as a variety of water sports, sailing in the estuary, walking the coastal footpath and enjoying various ferry trips to golden beaches as well as an abundance of shops and restaurants to enjoy throughout the day.
Courtenay Cottage is a fabulous terraced family holiday home which has been modernized and well equipped as well as retaining its original charm and character. Located right in the heart of Salcombes town centre the property has everything on its doorstep and is ideal for relaxing and enjoying the towns amenities. Situated in the town centre Courtenay Cottage provides the perfect setting and safe environment for families to enjoy great holidays in the popular seaside town. The cottage is divided across 4 floors and is perfectly set up for family holidays comfortably sleeping 6 in 3 double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The cottage is also the perfect property for 2 or more couples looking for a cosy retreat in the heart of Salcombe. As well as enjoying everything the town has to offer the Cottage also includes an upper level reception room benefitting from a balcony with beautiful views across Salcombe Estuary. The perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee or a drink in the evening whilst watching the boats on the water and the sunset.

Kitchen

Courtenay Cottage benefits from a fully equipped Kitchen on the ground floor containing a double oven with separate hobs, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave and dishwasher. Please note that the steps that lead up to the first floor are fairly steep.

Bathrooms

Bathroom 1 is located just off the kitchen and has been recently refurbished. This family bathroom contains a bath, shower, WC, wash basin and heated towel rail. This bathroom ideally accommodates bedroom 1 and 2 located on the floor above. The second bathroom leads off from the third bedroom on the lower level of the property. Again this has been recently refurbished and contains a shower, WC, wash basin and a heated towel rail.

Sleeping

The master bedroom is situated on the first floor containing a double bed, sink unit and wardrobe area. This bedroom has a light and spacious feel to it as well as benefitting from wonderful estuary views. Bedroom 2 contains twin beds and is located on the opposite side to the master bedroom. This bedroom contains a wardrobe area and has a street view looking onto Salcombes town centre.
The third bedroom is located on the lower level of the property. Please note the staircase leading down is fairly steep. This is a spacious room containing 2 twin beds and a colour television. There is a stable door exit which leads onto a courtyard and towards Whitestand car park. This is an ideal room for teenagers or for another couple as it has its own separate bathroom.

Dining room

Upon entering the property on Fore Street you walk into the dining and seating area. This area contains a large dining room table with chairs as well as a sofa and a colour television. There is also plenty of storage in this room as well as space for unloading luggage.

Outside space

The balcony leads off from the sitting room on the top floor. From here you can enjoy the beautiful views overlooking the harbour end and over towards East Portlemouth. The ideal spot to enjoy a drink and admire the scenery as well as watching the ferry go backwards and forwards to East Portlemouth.

Parking

Courtenay Cottage does not have any allocated parking however it is possible to pull up and unload quickly. Parking can be found at the top of Salcombe hill, alternatively you can pay and park in the long stay car park at Batson.

Wonderful! Don't want to go home...
Surprisingly spacious accomodation, over 4 Floors and able to sleep 8, even though only advertised as 6. Fantastic Views over Estuary, although Balcony was a bit of a squeeze for 4 to dine outside. Adrian & Co from Bristol - 23rd September 2016
A relaxing holiday with a superb view from the cottage
This was an enjoyable stay. The location is superb, both for amenities but also the view. The property is old but has been modernised to a good standard. The stairs are steep , so would not appeal to the infirm. The site says towels are not provided, when in fact they are. We brought our own, which took up valuable car space. Beach towels are best brought though. The recycling means a trek to the long stay car park. The cleaners turned up on the Friday before the 11 am deadline to get out. We were leaving anyway; but , it could have been inconvenient. This is a minor blip in an otherwise lovely cottage holiday. To be recomemnded. Fairliebrae - 8th July 2016

Entry
Enter on Salcombe Fore Street. The door is a stable door which is 77cm.
Step free onto carpet and then wood. There is a show rack to the left. There is a radiator to the right of door. There is one single window with curtains and blind. It has one hanging pendant light and 3 wall lights.
There is a central wooden table which is 195cm x 104cm wide. It has 8 44cm high chairs which are armless. There is a cupboard to the right of the window with 3 drawers and 3 cupboards 94cm high.
It has a big sofa which is 42cm high. In the right hand corner, there is a cupboard with a TV on top, which is 102 to floor and 130cm to top.
Kitchen
There is a 6cm step to kitchen onto wooden flooring. On the left, there is a fridge with built in freezer compartment. Kitchen surface is 89cm to floor.
It has a washing machine and a dishwasher below.  There are 12 cupboards in total. It has a sink which is 42cm high. It has an electric oven and a microwave.
It has a wooden bench 41cm high. It is lit by 3 spotlights, 1 wall light and 1 window.
Bathroom 1
The doorway is 63cm wide. It is lit by 3 spotlights and 1 window. It has a sink which is 86cm high and a toilet which is 40cm high. There is a mirror and a towel rail. There are 2 cupboards.
It has a bath which is 54cm wide and 144cm long.
Ground floor to first floor
There are 10 steps to the first floor, these steps are steep. There is a rope handrail on the left hand side.
Twin bedroom
This room is located on the right hand side. The doorway is 68cm wide. It has a carpeted floor. There are 2 single beds which are 57cm high.
