Bosuns Cottage is a super character cottage situated in the heart of Torquay and offers a fantastic location being only a very short easy stroll to the harbour side, restaurants, marina, beach and town centre shops. Whilst being close to the centre of the town the cottage also benefits from a very pleasant tucked away location in a historic area of the town and offer guests privacy from the main hustle and bustle. The owners have thoughtfully retained many of the original traditional features such as the beams and exposed stone walls so there is a great feeling of character within the property. The owners supply one car parking permit that allows guests the use of the local authority car parks in the area.
Bosuns Cottage has a stylish and well equipped kitchen area which contains a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. From the kitchen, there is also a door leading out onto the rear courtyard garden which is a great spot for enjoying an evening BBQ.
The open plan living accommodation is great for families and friends to relax in of an evening. The dining area is tucked away in its own little corner with a wooden dining set including chairs and a bench. In the living space, you can find comfortable seating and a Freeview TV, DVD & Blue ray player. This spacious area has a cozy cottage feel with its exposed walls and nautical theme.
The bedrooms are all located on the first floor and offer generous space to all guests. Bedroom one contains a double bed with storage for all your holiday essentials. Bedroom 2 has a single bed which is great base for teenagers to relax in. Finally, in bedroom 3 you can find a set of bunk beds creating a great space for children.
Bosuns Cottage benefits from a shower room with a large walk in shower, WC and wash basin. This is again located on the first floor and provides easy access to the 3 bedrooms.
Towards the front of the property you can find a small front shrub garden. Located at the rear is a furnished courtyard garden which can be accessed from the kitchen. This is a great place to relax whilst reading the book and soaking up the sunshine.
A car parking permit is provided which offers free parking in the local authority car parks throughout Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.

Very well located and parking around the corner worked very well as did the fact that the permit worked in many car parks in the Torbay area. Very impressed with Blueriver and the service they offer. Bosun’s cottage is ideal and a very short walk to Torquay harbour with all its facilities. Highly recommended. Mr Andrew Aiken - 3rd September 2018
We were very comfortable in Bosun's Cottage, and would love to return another year. We also appreciated meeting the staff in the Torquay office and their fast, professional response, and thank the homeowner for making minor repairs on very short notice.Frank Cord Lohmann - 6th August 2018
Would love to stay again. The property had such a lovely ambiance and was perfect for us being only a five minute walk to the sailing club. Petrina H Blomeley - 17th July 2018
Great location, lovely cottage had everything we needed, thoroughly enjoyed our stay!Mrs meredith power - 16th April 2018
Bosun's Cottage is a fantastic holiday stay - loads of character and everything you could need is in the property! Great location and when we next come back to Torquay it'll be our first port of call! Top notch!Mrs Debra Budd - 28th November 2017
This property is an absolute gem. The standard of the property is second to none we have experienced before in any part of the UK. Ideal location as just a few minutes walk to harbour. Parking permit was great addition to the property. Excellent size and abundance of hot water. Brilliant. Brilliant stay.Mr Craig Jackson - 30th October 2017
Fantastic property in the heart of Torquay. Amazing for dog owners with 2 dog friendly pubs on the doorstop. Great walks along the coastal paths and fantastic cafe on Meadfoot beach nearby. Will definitely visit again. David Harrison - 13th October 2017
This was our 3rd time at Bosuns and it never fails to deliver. Fantastic value for money in England's premier seaside resort . The cottage is 5 mins walk from the harbour and loads of Torquay day and nightlife. Bosuns is equipped with everything you will ever need for a holiday by the sea. We will be back next year with any luck. I fully recommend this cottage as an excellent choice of accommodation.I Morgan - 7th June 2017
Stylish cottage in central location - Our third time in this cottage in the last 12 months which says more about the excellent location and quality than anything else. We will be back soon!Mr W Schindler - 29th May 2017
Comfortable cottage in best location. Not my first time in the cottage. Everything was as excellent as during my previous visit. I would especially like to mention the excellent equipment of the kitchen. One minor thing: I am not sure if the given information in the user´s booklet about the garbage collection (Thursdays) is still up-to-date as there was no Thursday collection during my stay.Mr W Schindler - 31st March 2017
Comfortable cottage very close to nearly everything. The special parking pass is an extra bonus. Good WiFi connection. Very spacious.A previous customer - 20th October 2016
We stayed for a week in this lovely cottage, it was much bigger than I expected and the photos did not do it justice. It was lovely and clean, very spacious and had everything inside you could possibly need. There was fresh milk left for us which was a lovely touch and the whole cottage had a nautical theme. I noticed on some reviews people had put there was no full length mirror -well there is now in the main bedroom. Lots of space, large kitchen with everything in. There is even a drawer in the bedroom in which you can help yourself if you have forgotten anything-we didn't need this but is very useful just in case and another nice touch. Close to Torquay centre and walking distance to a couple of beaches. If you have a car it must be parked in the car park round the corner not on the street. The brilliant thing about it is the car park pass which meant we could travel to other beaches anywhere around Torbay and park for free!!! Saved us loads as we liked Broadsands beach a short drive away! Really enjoyed our stay, thank you.A previous customer - 10th August 2016
Lovely cottage near to the harbour of Torquay for all amenities. Also very easy for roads to access attractions. The car parking permit was an absolute god send and a must for the cottage. Lovely holiday.A previous customer - 3rd August 2016
Our stay at Bosun's cottage was absolutely lovely and enjoyable and this cottage is the ideal place for a pleasurable holiday. One suggestion: the bed mattresses are bumpy and need to be changed.A previous customer - 18th July 2016
It was our second time at bosuns cottage. What can I say....excellent position , excellently furnished and maintained, very clean, comfortable beds. Fully fitted kitchen. Amazing value for money. We absolutely love the place and we are already thinking about coming back next year.A previous customer - 25th June 2016
Ok we really could have done with mirrors in the bed rooms. We did have one but only being 5ft couldn't really see much. I also did have a slight issue with dust, the cottage did lack a good dust behind doors bathroom radiator & the tops of fires. These are the only poor points. There was milk upone our arrival, bits &a bobs in the bottom draw. Lovely thought, cottage was amazing only wish we could have stayed longer. We have already recommended this to our friends. Thank you for a fab few days Kind reagards the Parkes familyA previous customer - 8th May 2016
Comfortable cottage with three bedrooms and ample space for four adults. No parking outside but a public car park is about 200 yards away and a permit for all local council carparks is a bonus. The cottage was ideal for our stay of three nights while attending a conference. Dogs allowed but rear garden is small and paved so not suitable for dog-toiletting. however ther is a suitable green area about five minutes walk away.A previous customer - 8th April 2016
All very good the only thing wrong can you make the rubbish collection instructions clearer We had a very nice stay and our little dog loved the great beach Thanks very much Keith Wendy TillyA previous customer - 25th February 2016
wonderful cottage perfectly positioned felt at home there the only thing it needed was a freezer but you could always eat at the numerous restaurants that are there! Would go again.A previous customer - 14th October 2015
The only problem I had was getting the key-the box containing the key was small and I didn't figure out right away that it was a keybox. I'd suggest for future reference that the size and location of the keybox be made much more clearly.A previous customer - 15th September 2015
We had a very nice week staying in Bosuns cottage. The only thing which was a slight concern was that there was only one toilet in the house and there was five of us.A previous customer - 11th September 2015
We have had the most relaxing time in your beautiful cottage - You made us feel so welcome and all your thoughtful extra (milk, biscuits etc) were amazing. I will be recommending your cottage to everyone. Please thank your manager & cleaner too, cottage was spotless! I can't imagine anywhere else could be better than your cottage/home - fantastic! See you again soon we hope.Mrs C - Nottingham - 8th August 2015
We stayed in Bosuns cottage, for a week , from the 18th July 2015 for 7 days . Although the rain spoilt the week on and off ! The cottage ,had all the home comforts of home , very clean too ! The cottage is only 5 mins walk from the harbour , but was in a quiet area of Torquay , so it was relaxing , when we did get to sit outside on the patio .A previous customer - 28th July 2015
Loved bosons cottage, full of little quirks and character but with all mod cons Great location literally 2 mins walk from Main Street/harbour would definitely recommend as a holiday home in TorquayA previous customer - 21st July 2015
Lovely cottage, full of character in a perfect location close to Marina and shops. Couple of issues i.e. no iron/board, but this was quickly resolved by the agents. Armchairs are not that comfortable but loved the main bedroom & the nautical theme throughout. Wi-fi works well. Would definitely consider coming back again, had a great time.A previous customer - 7th July 2015
This lovely cottage is clean and comfortable. It's tucked away behind the harbour but within walking distance of the sea front. I'd highly recommend itA previous customer - 23rd June 2015
I found Bosuns cottage in the holiday cottages brochure and on the company website . It looked a decent place in a good location .The price for a full week in late may was acceptable. Imagine our surprise when we arrived at Bosuns cottage and discovered to our delight that it was far better than the pictures portrayed it to be. It was very clean and spacious , and the nautical theme gave it plenty of character. The town centre location is superb with all amenities close at hand . Its without doubt fantastic value for money and I cannot fault it in any way . My fiancée and I have already discussed making a return visit , theres no doubt we will stay at Bosuns again subject to availability . I would be more than happy to recommend this property to family and friends . ten out of ten. Ian Morgan , Quarry Bank , West Midlands .A previous customer - 2nd June 2015
Excellent service from Holiday Homes & Cottages. Would book Bosuns Cottage again and recommend it to friends. We were delighted with everything in the cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was just right for us - very near to everything - pubs, restaurants, shops and buses all within walking distance. And everyone was so friendly - would love to come again ! Thank you for making our holiday enjoyable.Mrs T - Isle of Man - 2nd May 2015
We stayed at this cottage over a weekend, its location was fantastic only being a very short walk from the harbour and town. The cottage itself was warm and welcoming. We had a fantastic stay here 4 adults and one toddler. We hope to stay in the future as the price was fantastic and within our price range. We truly couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!!!!!A previous customer - 15th April 2015
Excellent service from Holiday Homes & Cottages. Would recommend Bosun's Cottage - wonderful !Ms G - Worcester - 25th October 2014
Just spent a long weekend Friday to Monday in Bosuns Cottage (End Sept 2014). Really lovely character cottage, very well equipped and in a fantastic location for us, just five minute gentle walk to the harbour. Brilliant shower, which we did not have any issues with at all and it was used every day of our stay, dishwasher and washing machine were used too and they both worked well. We even had to put the heating on for a couple of the days as it went a little chilli in the evening but that was easy to operate and worked a treat! The only two negatives about this cottage was that the cane furniture in the sitting room was not too comfortable but as we were only there the weekend it was not too much of an issue for us but if i was there for longer i would have preferred a more comfortable sofa. Finally, it's a very old cottage we appreciate that but there were signs of damp on the walls in the kitchen and dining room. Again it didn't bother us too much but we were just very concious of our dog brushing up against it as the paint had bubbled and burst and had he of touched it with his body or tail, the paint and plaster underneath would have fallen to the floor. Don't get me wrong, the cottage was not wriggled with damp throughout. It was just two or thee small patches in a small area and it would not stop us staying there again. The car parking ticket that came with this property was worth it's weight in gold and i think we used it in almost every car park we could especially the one two minutes walk round the corner from the cottage.A previous customer - 9th October 2014
Well equipped house. Good wifi. Beds were very comfortable. The property is on a steep hill and being an older property, the stairs are very steep which could be a concern with children or elderly family members. It was even closer to Torquay than I had anticipated and the weather was glorious !A previous customer - 23rd September 2014
uriges und typisches Cottage mitten in der Stadt, mit Pub's und Shop's um die Ecke und trotzdem ruhig. Sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet fühlten wir uns schnell wohl.A previous customer - 10th September 2014
Excellent service from Holiday Homes & Cottages. Bosuns Cottage is nice - and the important thing- Very Clean.Mr K - Bavaria - 30th August 2014
We stayed for a week at Bosuns Cottage with 2 small children. The beds in all of the rooms were very comfy and all the linen provided was clean and good quality. The kitchen was well equipt, but if you are over 5ft 11...mind your head!! We had a couple of small problems with the cottage during the week but these were dealt with quickly and with no disruption to our holiday. The parking permit came in very handy as the weather wasn't great whilst we were there so we had a few day trips out. All in I would say its a lovely place to stay and the location is fantastic...literally 2 minutes to the harbour! If we holiday in Torquay again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Bosun's cottage again.A previous customer - 29th August 2014
Comfy cottage. Master bedroom was a dream. 60 step from pub(s) and High street /marina) Easy parking (behind/above the big church). Also perfect location if you have no car. (Buses stop close by) Two negatives: tiny but functional bathroom. (To owner: if shower drain cloggs, overflow happends instantly. We were careful, but it MUST be adressed. And outdoor patio is very small and filled w half dead plants) All in all. Nothing to disguss. You can safely book this property.A previous customer - 15th July 2014
Had not visited Torquay in over thirty years and I wanted my grandchildren to experience a typical seaside holiday in Britain. They were not disappointed. Although the town itself was a little run down the cottage we rented was great. perfect in every way for our needs. The parking permit made a huge difference as on street parking there is almost impossible to find. We are already thinking about returning next year and would certainly use the same letting company to book our accommodation. Have already recommended it to several friends.A previous customer - 8th May 2014
