On the Water

South Devon has an extensive waterfront so there are many water activities available to choose from depending on whether you like speed or relaxation.

Learn to surf on the county’s best surf beaches or hire a surfboard and wetsuit with Triocean Surf and give it a go yourself. For something a little different try stand up paddle boarding on the Kingsbridge Estuary. This is a fantastic way to explore the estuaries and shoreline whilst getting an all-over body workout.

For the fast lane try power boat lessons or sailing at the many waterside towns such as Salcombe and Dartmouth. There are many courses and companies available for you to learn how to drive a power boat or sail your own boat.

blueriver12For relaxation try yachts and fishing trips. Fishing trips can be privately hired for your family group for a day out on the water learning how to catch various fish. You can even cruise the estuaries on the local ferries so you can leave your car behind and travel by water to explore the various towns located along the river banks.

Go at your own pace and explore the river banks by Kayak and canoe. You can do this either accompanied or hire your own equipment from the many suppliers along the Devon waterways.
